About

Oregon Coast Culinary Institutes' 17,000 square foot building, completed in July 2005, features three professional kitchens, three classrooms, a library, a huge open area for banquets and a gorgeous demonstration kitchen for more intimate classes and events. The facility is state-of-the-art with video, audio, internet and television capabilities in all labs and classrooms. The demonstration kitchen is used for community classes and for small dinners and receptions. It is also used for the "Chef's Table" put on by OCCI externs on a weekly basis for the general community and college staff. The instructional kitchens, designed for up to 20 students, provide industry standard equipment for hands-on learning. The Baking and Pastry students provide weekly specialties for sale to the general public that reflect their comprehensive curriculum. The students graduate with an Associate of Applied Science degree after 15 months of instruction and externship. They then begin fulfilling their dreams of becoming chefs. They work in outstanding restaurants, hotels and resorts. Some realize their dreams of opening their own restaurants. The possibilities are expansive.
